Re: The Witty Sea Fury is here!!

That is a toy/model I have not seen offered before. Will consider buying if I ever come across one.

Post Re: Sorry...

but it didn't serve at Suez.

There are conflicting reports about there being two Sea Furies still being flown by the Egyptian Air Force during the Suez "Incident" in 1956.

Sea Furies definitely saw action against the "Cuban" invaders during the Bay of Pigs fiasco

Re: The Witty Sea Fury is here!!

I've been examining the photos but have difficulty seeing fine detail. They pictures are great but how do the panel lines and so forth stand out?

Also what liveries are available? I see the FAA well represented and a Dutch example. What about other operators?

I've seen a couple flying here, one in FAA colours (I think, unless commonweath birds flew in similar colours) and another in a smart dark blue Australian scheme (of a display team of sorts)

I believe that Witty is going to release a couple of RCN Sea Furies and possibly a 2 seater version. I remember seeing something on the old MH when it was first announced that Witty was making them.

Re: The Witty Sea Fury is here!!

I was actually looking forward to the Canadian colours among the initial releases.

The more uncommon liveries the better. There are still lots opportunies with the Furies based on the comments above.

I like what Hobby Master has done with the Mig 21 release. Four different countries liveries giving us plenty of choice.

They aren't Witty yet, but I took some pics of Sea Furies at the Reno Air Races which include some Canadian birds.

I really like the way these Witty Furies look - from above that is. Now I don't own any Witty models (I've never even seen one in person), but they sure don't put much into painting armament or the wheel wells (much like IXO) do they?. Is it fair to say that Witty is a notch above IXO but below Hobby Master?

Re: The Witty Sea Fury is here!!

I am dying to get mine. This will be my first Witty.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: The Witty Sea Fury is here!!

I was contemplating whether or not to go for one of these when I happened on this thread again.

I think it will be the Dutch one but also like the RN scheme.

Thing is making the right choices. I was looking forward to the Dragon Ju87 and the Gemini Aces but these don't seem to have lived up to the hype.

As it is I only have the 1st Witty Spitfire in a collection of 100-150 planes. Many on the forum seem to really like Witty.

PS Black 6, great pics! Some rate Witty better than Dragon to give some perspective. Check out the Witty Israeli F16 thread.
