George Preddy was......Just the greatest fighter pilot who ever squinted through a gunsight.
He was a complete fighter pilot.......Colonel John C. Meyer Deputy Commander of the 352nd.

Excellent of course, both in Royal Navy and foreign service.
After all, it was British.

I've been examining the photos but have difficulty seeing fine detail. They pictures are great but how do the panel lines and so forth stand out?

Also what liveries are available? I see the FAA well represented and a Dutch example. What about other operators?

I've seen a couple flying here, one in FAA colours (I think, unless commonweath birds flew in similar colours) and another in a smart dark blue Australian scheme (of a display team of sorts)

Here are some pics of the blue one mentioned earlier. Doesn't have the Centarus engine though.

Re: The Witty Sea Fury is here!!

I can't wait to get mine. It will make a nice addition to the ol' hangar. I saw one fly at Oshkosh one year. What a machine.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: The Witty Sea Fury is here!!

One Thing That Distinguishes The Sea Fury From Most Other Piston-engined Fighters Is The Sound Of The Sleeve-valved Engine When It Is In Full Chat. If You Ever Get The Chance To See "getch" Getchell Perform With His Stock Sea Fury In R.australian Navy Colors, Go; You Won't Be Disappointed.

By "un-hooking" The Sea Fury, It Could Become A Plain Old Fury Which Served With The Following Air Forces:-
Iraq; Pakistan; Egypt; Burma And Cuba. Eight Were Sold To Germany, Operated By A Government Organization - Not The Luftwaffe, As Target Tugs. Of Course, The Royal Canadian Navy Also Operated The Sea Fury In Some Attractive Schemes.
Though It Is Not A Particularly Well-known Type, 615 Were Built. The T.mk 20 Two-seater Versions Also Went To Most Of The Above Forces.

Some Of The Early Mk.x Sea Furies Had A Four-bladed Prop, More Variety!!

Re: The Witty Sea Fury is here!!

Reviewing the pics posted and on the Flying Mule, I'm really warming to the Dutch model.

I quite fancy having different insignia in my collection. Makes it a little more diverse.

I've dug out my old photos to confirm the Sea Fury identities.

One is in Royal Navy colours ZU-SEA, the other ZU-WOW in Australian colours per the photos.

Note civilian registration is ZS. Warbirds & former military jets are registered as experimentals (ZU) in South Africa.
