What color is the AIM-120 & AIM-9X on S-Hornets?

We all know about the white missiles on Witty Super Hornets, but I'd like to know what color I should paint them if I were to attempt a fix. I suppose I could use my Dragon Super Hornet to figure out the AMRAAM color but I still need to know the color for the AIM-9X Sidewinders

I don't have a good reference book on ordnance color so any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Light ghost grey all over? I've seen some modellers put dark grey or black noses on them. I know earlier models of the Sidewinders (AIM-9L/M) had black noses but I'm not sure about the AIM-9X Sidewinders.

Re: What color is the AIM-120 & AIM-9X on S-Hornets?

The real things have a slight hint of green to them. (Sidewinder seeker heads, that is) They're olive-very-dark-metallic-grey. (black is a great over-simplification of the color that they are, but still ends up on a lot of models)

The 9X version seems to be a bit less green and duller though. Might want to use straight dark grey on the seeker. (fins are plain pure steel)

Thanks David.

Btw Witty isn't the only ones with white AIM-9X Sidewinders. Even the Doyusha 1/144 candy toy kits come with white wingtip AIM-9Xs.
