Witty Wings ME-109

Was wondering if there was ever a review of the 109's anywhere, I noticed they have the correct marking on the tail, which most do not. They looked kinda good, any opinions on these.

Re: Witty Wings ME-109

Harry's the one to ask probalby about all things 109, but here's my attempt:

A nice plane for the price paid.

Re: Witty Wings ME-109

I had one for about 2 weeks until I sold it. Can't put my finger on it, but I didn't like mine. Something about the wings' dihedral seemed off. In fact, I kept my IXO 109G instead of the Witty one. Pappy's correct - Harry is the one to talk to when it comes to 109s.

Re: Witty Wings ME-109

Looks to me that the u/c, like Corgi's, is at a 90% angle to the wing, and I believe it should be angled forward a bit, should it not?

Give and take with these, like every other manufacturer. Where else are you going to get a G model Barkhorn and Grislawski? I have those 2 along with Ludwig Franzisket and have no major complaints.

Re: Witty Wings ME-109

The only real problem with the Witty 109 is the "rake" and stance of the landing gear.. The Bf-109 had the gear more angled forward rather than "straight up and down" as on the Witty.. Dragon has this rake more realistic, the downfalls with their G is that they don't have the swastika, the wheels are spoked as on the early E-F-G models when on the G-6 they should be smooth (as on the Witty bird) and the wings have almost NO Dihedral..

Here is a model that somewhat illustrates what I am talking about..

Re: Witty Wings ME-109

Here is a pic of the new Gemini 109F which looks correct in the stance of the landing gear.. Gemini might just be the new standard in 109s...

Re: Witty Wings ME-109

Yea but the GJ are $30.00 each the Wittys are $18.00 or so, I am going to try and heat the gear see if it will give a little, to give it the correct angle?

Or a Langer and Carganico for that matter? I'm very happy with the schemes Witty has been releasing for the 109, and the Barkhorn and Grislawski will be added soon enough. They're very well built planes with markings that seem to be as historically accurate as anything currently out there so I'm not gonna sweat the small stuff and enjoy them for the great values that they are. Wish they'd come out with more schemes, can't seem to get enough of them...plus unlike Dragon, which aside from not having the proper tail markings is also a pain to put together, Wittys are ready to go right out of the box.

You can say that again. The Wittys are a deal and nicely done and do as you say have the proper markings.
