Re: Witty F/A-18D???

Well, it is pretty much a "D" (EXACT same errors as Dragon, interestingly) and the airbrake fits well. However:

Yeah, the landing gear just SUCKS and is half as thick as it should be. Canopy.

Paint---VMFA-224 are known as the BENGALS for a reason, and their colors are ORANGE for that reason. Not red. Note that the rudder perfectly matches the red formation light on the tail.

Also, just like Hasegawa and even Century, they keep painting stuff flourescent yellow-green for some reason. "Radome tan" is the color of natural fiberglass---it's not flourescent! It's tan. It's called "radome tan" not "radome yellow-green".

Here's the real thing to compare colors too:

Re: Witty F/A-18D???

If witty makes there f-22 like all of their other releases i wont buy it. Im not going to spend money on an aircraft that doesnt represent the real thing. period. I sure hope witty works really hard on the f-22. Im tired of bad quality aircraft from witty.

You're talking as if Witty was going to make the Raptor...did I miss anything?
Just when I thought they're busy with the Tornado...

Re: Witty F/A-18D???

Surprise surprise...
first, I had no idea (like others here) that the D hornet was even being developed by Witty, then the Tornado, and now winarc and these rumors about a Raptor?
Meanwhile, I see they're really not even delivering the announced liveries on the same old molds, with limited exceptions.
I do see Witty models pop up at basement bargain prices (i.e. 50% off or more for the Uzbek Flanker) here and there in Hong Kong, even a surge of very old liveries in other markets in Asia, sign that some stock is unsold and is being cleared off store rooms.
Zed, or anybody with concrete information that can be revealed: are those new molds really true? (Can they be true if Witty is/were drowning in a sea of unsold products?!!?)

Re: Witty F/A-18D???

im sure they are drowning in old products. If you think about it they copied almost every dragon livery YEARS after dragon had produced them. Even if they were only produced in small nimbers...which I highly doubt...they must have a ton sittin around. One question is whats the time frame. I rember waiting forever for the witty mig-29. I mean I had heard about it like 2 years before seeing any aircraft. So even thoguh we say F/A-18D and maybe C, Tornado and F-22A...we dont know how long. And they may not make it through the next two years so who knows.....
