| Re: Tornado coming from Witty
errr... ...Tedong, I would like to see Luftwaffe liveries on Tonkas too, but certainly not on an F.3. Or are Witty also planning to do a "short" Tonka? However, as I posted here somewhere before, I am still dreaming of aGerman IDS Tonka with Norm 83 (overall green) livery from JaBoG 33, made by Century Wings in a far away future, with full interchangeable armament including the Taurus cruise missile. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Tornado coming from Witty cool! I'm in for one. as for the undercarriage, I dunno...sounds like an interesting but somewhat risky experiment. the lack of gear-up options on their models is really annoying, and I definitely would encourage them to find some way to enable gear-up display. whether this is the way to do it, though, I'm not so sure... since diecast models are primarily for display rather than rough play, I really don't think there is much value in having retracting gear as opposed to interchangeable pieces a la Dragon or, preferably, Century. yes, the fewer pieces the better but surely accuracy is the overwhelming consideration..."fiddly bits" are a major plus if (and only if) they enable an otherwise impossible rendering of the gear-down undercarriage. my point? I can imagine some ways of executing a retractable-gear model which involve less-than-painstaking efforts on the landing gear doors...deleting smaller pieces, reshaping or eliminating some of the more fragile pieces of the undercarriage, using hideous giant hinges, or even eliminating the landing gear doors entirely. witty should avoid these options at all costs. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: Tornado coming from Witty I have all but one of the corgi Tonkas and like them all but i must admit that the main gear doors are a pain in the a$$ to keep attached if you want to display the model on it's wheels. While I don't like displying my models 'in flight' at least this shows that they are listening to the comments they have recieved. An F.3 is a common sense option considering we have two IDS models already, personally i think it looks a lot 'racier' than the bomber and should compliment the corgi model nicely - assuming, as Zed pointed out 'it's more F-15 than F-14'! I look forward to seeing the 25 Sqn machine and whatever comes next. Knowing WItty's penchant for unusual schemes i would expect to see both a Saudi and Italian machine at some point. Which should hopefully prompt corgi to finall release a Saudi IDS!!! Raddger | ||||||||||||||
