Re: Pictures Mig-29 Kubinka 1989

would anybody here be nice enough to post a couple pics of the canopy area in good light?

the images over at the flying mule make it look like the canopy frame is ridiculously wide...and
possibly a bad fit, too! I'm hoping that's not the case...

Re: Pictures Mig-29 Kubinka 1989

thanks!

great photos on that site...I had no idea it covered jets...well, 1/72 jets, that is...plenty
of diecast airliners of course...

anyway, the Flanker looks really good. the canopy frame is not nearly as bad as I had
feared. there is room for improvement to be sure, but it is hardly a big enough problem
to ruin the model, especially since the rest of the jet looks about as good as anyone
could reasonably expect.

much appreciated-- now I can order with confidence!

as you can see in my previous post, the cockpit frame is pathetic...and fit is a matter of hit and miss, some are ok, some are horrible...happens with almost all WWs Mind you! the model is light on metal and heavy on plastic and this is an alarming trend as of late...there is also a packaging and glueing problem with an AoA probe on the starboard side, I had to pluck, trim and reinsert mine! There was also a almost-1mm gap between the underside of the engine cover and the wing (plastic-metal joint), I am still happy with my new model, but check it out carefully if you can before taking your flaming new "swalow" home.

The Flanker? well, in fact the shape of the cockpit canopy is actually COMPLETELY off, far too big and cutting too deep into the fuselage...but I have 3 of them in my display right now, so I am not sure if I endorse WW or bash it on that area, maybe I have not many options if I want Chinese Su-27s
