Witty New Spitfire Improved

The new Witty Spitfire. The pilot is not in the back as before and the slip tank has been deleted.

It certainly needed improving.

Crap I did not even realize there was an issue with the spit, I have a few and love them especially for the price paid?

Indecision is the key to flexibilty.
Flexibility is the key to airpower.
Indecision is therefore the key to Airpower.

The best Mk IX's, and probably the best overall diecast Spitfire to date, are the last two Gemini releases. Witty have never seemed to succeed in the WWII market in that same way as others have, mainly due to silly errors that slipped the net. When I look at my Witty IAF F-16C, and then a Witty Spitfire, I really cannot believe that they came from the same people!

Re: Witty New Spitfire Improved

Could find just a couple of things that Witty Wings might have done slightly better than the Gemini Aces Spitfire. The obvious one being the canopy and the second is that the Witty Wing example may have done just slight bit better with regards to the shape of the leading edge of the verticale stabilizer.

Canopy, obvious? Would have to disagree with that. Witty's lacks shape and whilst the GA one is missing a slice of paint it has a much better shape and represents the 'blown' canopy better. Witty's has a random strip behind the canopy which I've never understood...

Not sure what you mean by vertical stabilizer?

Re: Witty New Spitfire Improved

I'd have to agree with Charley on the canopy as I always thought that was one of the letdowns on the Witty Spit (along with the skinny prop blades and fixed gear). I was a big fan of the Witty Spitfire when it came out but the Gemini MkIX raised the bar big time!
