| Re: Witty Engine Detail? Thanks JP. Awesome pics! This answers my question regarding Witty's and FOV's F-14. Can anyone post similar front view pics of Witty's F-16, F/A-18, and SU-27? | |||||||||||||

| Re: Witty Engine Detail?
OK Zed. Now Witty is starting to impress me with its jets. The Israeli F16s may be my first take on their jets. From the pictures Witty planes all seem to lack definition of the panel lines. Makes them look a bit bland. Is this just an optical illusion?

| Re: Witty Engine Detail? Thanks again JP. Awesome pics! I wish the Hornet's and Viper's intakes looked as nice as the F-14 and 15. Oh well. I appreciate your assistance. Can anyone shed light on the intakes of Dragon's F-16s? | |||||||||||||

| Re: Witty Engine Detail?
I think thats the problem zed, the panel line are to 1/72nd scale and once painted they become almost non existent. When viewed close up you can make them out, but viewed from a normal distance they just blend into the model making it look to clean. Don't get me wrong I'm not advocating Witty go down the Corgi route, but I would prefer just a bit more depth. Just my two pennies' worth.

| Re: Witty Engine Detail? Let us put things in order for Elmer: Witty makes the best 1/72 F-15 in the market so far. intake details (fan blades spin) exhaust details (feathers and interior details: multilayered and realistic) wheels roll and are made of rubber stabs are movable rudders are movable canopy can be opened and there is a realistic mecanism, although very fragile! speedbrake can also be opened, but a little effort is required hefty and posable metal display stand on the down side: no gears up option (fine with me, i never display models "inflight") little or no cockpit details compared to Dragon an alien is piloting the sucker | |||||||||||||

| Re: Witty Engine Detail?
Sounds like a plan. I actually prefer the lines as they are, make them deeper and they look like legos. A little weathering would make it look so much better. Look at a Dragon's exhaust and you'll notice they bother making it look "burned". Also, the type of paint is not as dull/flat as Dragon's or Corgi's. Oh, the Su-27 lacks spinning fan blades but has a pair of moulded 1st stage fans inside. I am sad they decided to drop the exhaust's interior detail seen on the F-15! (oh, and the stabs don't move on this one, but the alien is still there)
