Does anyone else have either of the released Israeli F-16s yet? If so, please give your input and post pics if possible.

I have the Barak, and commented on it earlier in this thread? Do you have specific q's about it? I'll get around to posting pics one of these days...

It's a beauty -- the best F-16 I've yet to see in 1:72.

Thans Pappy B. I read your earlier thread and appreciated it. I was hoping others would also comment, but please post your pics! What makes this particular model the best in 1:72? Livery? Casting? Fit?

Livery, casting, and fit !

It's a very striking scheme and the paint is very cleanly applied, the model overall has excellent fit/finish. The detail in the mold looks a bit sparse to me on the underside of the model, but that's really looking for quibbles. The only thing that bothers me a smidge is the canopy doesn't fit tightly in the closed position, it sits a bit loose and there can be ugly gaps, but that's not a huge deal to me. (The pilot could be better too, I suppose).

I do think it's a bit expensive, especially considering you have to now buy the stand separately (but I do think the original retail on these jets was 39.99, and now it's 34.99 .. not sure on that though).

I'm not a rivet-counting expert when it comes to the F-16 and therefore cannot testify to the overall accuracy of the model. It looks awesome to me!

The pics will take a while I think I'll see what I can do.

The only other f-16 I own is Dragon's Tiger meet and it looks crude in comparison, and I've looked over lots of the rest of Dragon's lines in shops and such. I am definitely getting this one from Witty next, simply due to how much I like the Barak.

Do you need new pics, or do you just need some of the other bird not in the previously posted pics?

mhackl,

Do you shot these photos yourself or have a pro do them? The quality is excellent.

Thank you, just your asking that question is quite a compliment.

I do shoot these myself, I use a really low-budget setup too.

This will make you pros out there cringe.

Lighting: Direct - Built in florescent lighting in my garage.

Backdrop: I used to use a white cardboard square from a Franklin Mint Ju-52 shipping box. I finally broke down and bought a piece of heavy white fabric from Wal-Mart, I think I paid $6 for it.

Reflectors: 2 - 4 sheets of white copy paper. I fold these 45-90 degrees so that they stand on their own.

Camera: A real hunk o' junk. I use a Fuji Finepix 3800 (3.2mp) $125. It's a real piece, but I've used it for so long that it's predictable. I would strongly recommend against this camera. It is absolutely horrible in any kind of moderately low-light situation. I bought a better 8mp camera, but I'm not really comfortable with it yet.

If your shopping for a camera, I strongly recommend doing a little research at http://www.dpreview.com it's a great site and their reviews are very thorough.
