| How does Witty compare? I got a nice Corgi collection with a loose GA and FOV model here and there. Today I have my sights on the Witty captive Me109 (I like the idea of a captive line-up). But how does Witty compare quality wise to Corgi and/or GA? | |||||||||||||

| Re: How does Witty compare?
IMHO Witty's WWII stuff is a distand third to those two, and a distant fourth really when you include Dragon. That said, they are affordable, and have some interesting liveries that the others don't do, so if the livery is most important for you I'd say Witty's worth a hard look. You can see photo reviews of the witty birds I have on my site, if you're interested.

| Re: How does Witty compare? Like many other manufacturers Witty has good moulds and bad ones. I find their Zeros to be OK and their Sea Fury is pretty good and the only mould in town. But I'm staying away from their P-51, P-38, Spitfire and German fighters. Not much of a jet person so can't help you there. | |||||||||||||

| Re: How does Witty compare? The Zero is very good, the Sea Fury is excellent, and I really like the new Fw 190. I've seen too many bad reviews of the others, so stay away from them. I own the first P-38J, and will probably get some of the others, even though it also has issues. Witty is very up and down, and the brand really needs an unofficial, unbiased reviewer to help buyers decide which models are "safe" to get. | |||||||||||||

| Re: How does Witty compare? I've been collecting now for a little over two years and I have 112 diecast planes from Corgi, GA, Dragon, IXO, FoV and Matchbox. In this same time period, I've bought 5 Witty Wings planes. As of today, I've not got one left and I refuse to ever buy another one. What does that tell you? | |||||||||||||

| Re: How does Witty compare? Never say never Hotrap... least that's what I've learned. Their F-16s, F-15s, and Su-27s are nice though Least I think so... | |||||||||||||

| Re: How does Witty compare? Good question, but you need to be more specific. I only own three Witty Wings, all of them ME Bf-109Gs, and I find them acceptable. However, as you can tell, I don't own any of their jets so I obviously can't comment on the QC of those types of issues. | |||||||||||||

| Re: How does Witty compare?
You're not alone on this thinking, PappyB. I own the same diecasts above and I still get a 'high' just looking at my 2 JASDF 50th Anniversary F-15s ( I'm going for the third anni a/c soon! ), Israeli F-16 and 1st issure Su-27 despite the canopy shape issue - it is still an excellent representation of the Su-27, imho. I hope Witty will spit out some Sea Fury racers too coz' I'll be all over those if they did. Their P-38 Lighting mould, despite the inaccurately painted undersides on the "Green Dragon Tail', it is not a bad looking mould despite what others may say, and it is still on par with Corgi and Matchbox P-38s. Still, Witty certainly needs to address those minor detail issues and hopefully have rectified them with the next batch of Lightnings still in the pipeline.

| Re: How does Witty compare?
Don't know about that Pappy. I don't collect jets so no matter how nice they are I don't see myself getting one. The P-38 did get me interested for about 30 seconds until I saw the silver undersides, rocket trees, and totally wacky color. Something about this brand totally turns me off from buying them. Even the Sea Fury got sold off. Fact is I really was excited about Witty when they first came out but they just haven't impressed me.
