I love this scheme, it has always been one of my favorites! One day soon, I hope, dream, wish, pray, daydream, that it will be made in 1:48 by some great diecast manufacturer who really loves the P-51D and wants to render it with the utmost tender loving care (I would also take a Dragon 1:72, but the line appears to be defunct now).

Speccast makes it in 1:45 -- but there are those screwheads to consider...

(not to mention SC almost makes FM's 'stang look good -- but I still say SC's are better since FM is supposedly really trying for accuracy )


I'd like to see this one done right in a larger scale, too, Elmer.

I'd like to see this one done right in a larger scale, too, Elmer.

You're right about SC diecasts - - their pad printed graphics are superbly done and very sharp lookin' only to be marred with screwheads and concave wing forms! Yuck!!!

Put me down for a "Man-O-War" Stang in 1/48th as well.
