Re: Is this a new F-14 for Witty

That can't be a Witty. The paint is 10x more inaccurate than anything they've done yet. If it is---they've taken a big drop in quality.

That bird does not look right at all....
Hummm i'll have to check on this one....
Well it says on the Witty site...
VF-143 PUKIN DOGS USS AMERICA 1977
I have seen these VF-143 Pukin Dogs and Witty has got the wrong
shade of gray IMHO.

I have never seen a Pukin Dogs bird look like that. Now I have not seen every colour scheme on every plane from every era, but I have seen a good many Dogs. Would want to see real bird before I accept that offering.

Re: Is this a new F-14 for Witty

It's simple---that scheme is the standard 1970's Tomcat scheme. Should match the Century Jolly Rogers and upcoming Black Aces releases. Clearly doesn't. And the blue should be a LOT darker.

Regardless, they're still using F-14B nozzles and shrouds... (which is funny because their B's have A nozzles)

Re: Is this a new F-14 for Witty

Can Witty at lest try to come close to making a accurate paint scheme on one of their Tomcats.
The only F-14 I could tolerate enough to buy was the F-14A USN NSAWC, NAS Fallon, NV, 1999. I would have got the late nineties VF-103 if it was not for the stupid paint job.

Re: Is this a new F-14 for Witty

Both the WTW72009-09 & WTW72009-03 camos are off but the worst offense is that VF-103 never used D model Tomcats.

From what I can tell from pictures of the real plane & a decal sheet the graphics on the tail of the "Merry Christmas" Jolly Roger F-14 are to large. I was really disappointed by these mistakes because the "Merry Christmas" VF-103 F-14 is one of my favorite novelty schemes & I would have purchased it for sure.
