Cool Re: Is this a new F-14 for Witty

I've been thinking oif getting their VX-4 "Black Bunny", but after reading inputs on this thread I'm not so sure that is a good move.I mean, how badly can you screw up black. Any ideas?

Re: Is this a new F-14 for Witty

Paint's not so much the issue, as "what type of F-14 it is". Witty (and Dragon) have yet to make an F-14 that is actually an F-14A, B, or D. They just mash a bunch of various F-14 parts together, and call it what they feel like.

Re: Is this a new F-14 for Witty

I can't recall which release but I remember seeing one with the LANTIRN pod on the left side of the plane. Is it possible?

Re: Is this a new F-14 for Witty

Although Witty and Dragon's Tomcats have their share of issues, Witty seems to make a point of making such large errors that they can't be over looked. I can look past a missing nose probe but the incorrect chin pod that’s way too big of a mistake to ignore.

Witty should just go completely off the deep end and give us an F-14 in a Vietnam USAF camo; heck they have already given us an F-14 with a USAF F-16 base color.

Now I don't own any Witty Wings, don't know if I ever will (I almost exclusively collect F-14's) but if I do ever get one I REALLY hope it doesn't have two FLIR pods as your picture and the VF-32 bird on their website illustrates (or at least on the wrong side). THAT cannot be ignored.

I've heard the F-15's are pretty good though, I may look into one.

Re: Is this a new F-14 for Witty

Did they also remold the entire back end so it's not an F-14D from 1991?

Re: Is this a new F-14 for Witty

The plane looks much better now but it has the dual chin-pod of the F-14D and also the engine does not look right. Wonder what happened over at Witty. They have placed the LANTIRN pod on the wrong side and mixed up the B and D of VF-103. My VX-4 F-14D has F-14A indicated at its back end when I took a closer look.
