Anyone have pics of an real Uzbek Su-27?

I haven't had much luck finding pics, on the web, of an actual Uzbek Su-27. I'm thinking that the bird Witty released is of an airshow paint scheme. The only languages spoken, in Uzbekistan, is Uzbek and Russian. Therefore, it doesn't make sense that they would have "Uz Air Force", in English, on their planes unless it was for an airshow.

Re: Anyone have pics of an real Uzbek Su-27?

I wish you all the luck in finding some decent Uzbekistan Su-27 photos on the net. Believe me I've tried!
They're almost non-existant I dare say. You'll have better luck finding those pictures in specialty military aviation publications
and magazines sold at Borders Books or Barnes & Nobles, imo. Sorry I couldn't offer you some help on this one, but I'll try.

This web site has some good info and color plates of SU-27s from the nations which operated it. Scroll down the list to see the Uzbek AF version and comments.

Re: Anyone have pics of an real Uzbek Su-27?

Is the Witty supposed to model the scheme in that photo and color plate? If so... it doesn't even look in the ballpark I agree, as a model, it looks cool -- but is it accurate?

The "early 2000's" part makes sense as far as the English "Uz Air Force" is concerned. After 9/11, Uzbekistan let the US Airforce operate from an airbase near the Afghanistan border. The English lettering was probably there to let USAF folks know that the Uz Su-27 was one of the "good guys".

Id even question the logic behind that. By the time you get close enough to read that, if it was indeed a bad guy, you'd be dead wasting time trying to read the markings. But I guess it would make sense if you wake up to an airfield and you suddenly see an SU-27 parked next to your F-16 and wonder what the hell was going on.
