Re: Uzbekistan Su-27

Excellent, I can't wait. Hey, How difficult were the gear up conversions that you did? Did it require much more than removing the gear and replacing the door? Did you have to do any extra fabrication?

The FM MiG-29 conversion wasn't too bad. I only had to fabricate a small rectangle to fill the void between two of the aft bay doors
(it's the small white rectangle that you can barely make it out in the pic below).

The Su-27 was a lot more complicated. I had to cut part of one of the aft bay doors off and fabricate two complicated shapes to fill the voids left when the doors were glued in place. In the pic below, the white door was fabricated from sheet styrene. I haven't yet fabricated the piece that's going to fill the void between the fuselage & the rear door.

Re: Uzbekistan Su-27

Can't wait 'til this little puppy hits the market, but since when did the Uzbekistan Air Force co opt the RAF? What's with the Royal Air Force roundel?

Come again? Please clarify this comment, I'm missing something... I mean, the colors are quite different (except fot the white, but then we can put a lot of countries in the "co-opting the RAF" category...).

Gort, I thought it was an RAF roundel myself until I did a google image fast search and found these colour profiles:

Re: Uzbekistan Su-27

Thanks, Fly!

I swear, skidmark's Su-27 looks like an RAF roundel adorns its pretty neck. In fact, it's nearly identical to roundels I see (I'm looking at some pics -- even as we speak) on a cold-war Avro Vulcan and Hadley Page Victor. Of course, my comment was facetious, but then it was meant to be. Thanks for the illustrations! If Witty's Uzbek '27 is at least as good as her sister Flankers, I'll die a happy robot!

Re: Uzbekistan Su-27

Another good looking SU-27 from Witty, I would also like to see a russian drak & light gray camo bird.

Yes, but it would even be nicer if Witty did this one next: Su-30 MK tandem seater variant with the same dark & light gray camo scheme.
