I know this is one of the things about the die-cast makers that gets to me, loads of "liveries/color schemes" but not a good deal for collectors who would like to collect accurate-ish variants (not as exact as the plastic modeller can achieve I know)...Am I being too fussy?

Since we're speaking about plastic modellers, I just saw on some very skilled guy's website detailed pictures that set appart the "C" from the "G". gotta look it up though and it was in Chinese, but abundant with pictures. I guess plastic modellers can get more historically picky than diecast collectors, who enjoy the result more than the process.

The latest one does have a refuelling p***e.
Saw the newest model two days ago and it still has skipped painting the back of the cockpit in black (or olive drab depending on the plane)

Just recieved the WittyWings first F-104. Will post pictures of all 3 companies USAF F-104's soon.
Just for now the box is labelled F-104S? There is no stand it has to be bought seperately it weighs at a guess about 60% more than the HM release
very little plastic.

Regards Paul

Just so everyone can judge for themselves here is a pic of the HM "Really George" and the WittyWings, and yes the 3 little prongs under the front fuselage are metal as is the spike at midpoint.

Cheers Paul

Thanks for the picture, Paul. Looking at the Witty version closely, the canopy shape appears to have issues particularly the framing area - too thick? Also, the fuselage looked too
'fat' as well! I dunno, something about this Witty Starfighter just doesn't look right in my eyes. Please excuse my very crude critique, but I think Hobby Master still wins hands down, no doubt.

Yes the Fuselage is fat have done vernier measurements and its diameter is typically 2-3 mm larger. And as you say "it does'nt look right" you are spot on.

Sorry meant to send this earlier this is quite a decent shot to compare overall fuselage finish especially the back end, not "Really George" but plenty of detail to compare to each of the 2 F-104's

Re: Witty's F-104: not so brilliant I am afraid

Had a look at Witty's Really George at Kemble on Sunday and regardless of the physical shape issues mentioned the finish didn't look as good as the HM version, also - twice the price without optional under carriage!

Unless the produce a 'must have' livery I will probably stick to HM.

As an aside - I picked up the Iraqi Sea Fury which looks fantastic!
