Witty's new F-14 and P-38

I just checked out Witty's web site and they have the new F-14 desert camo posted along with the new P-38.
Take a look at the links.

Re: Witty's new F-14 and P-38

How come there is no insignia on that Tomcat?

Re: Witty's new F-14 and P-38

They are both probably pre-pro samples we're looking at -- which is why the Cat is "naked" I'd suspect...

The Tomcat scheme looks pretty sweet -- though I don't understand why:

A. After years of having only MB, now we're drowning in P-38s

and

B. Why everyone insists on coming out with the same livery -- isn't this the same one IXO did (albeit with just a tad of room for improvement... ) and Corgi has on the schedule, too -- unless it's been axed...

Why not choose something no one's touched in 1:72 for the P-38?

This was an experimental exercise scheme temporarily used at the Naval Strike Warfare Center around the time of Desert Storm, hence the non-standard markings and lack of insignia. This jet was used to pioneer strike tactics for the F-14.

Yea,But i thought "The Thief of Baghdad"F-14 had the some VF-24 markings on it.
"Camel Smoker" had no markings i guess.
I thought Witty was going to make "Thief of Baghdad".
Here is both Camel Smoker & Thief of Baghdad.

Great question, Pappy! I would've rejoiced if Witty did some of the other variants of the P-38 (like a P-38M Night-fighter ) instead of the usual vanila flavored P-38.

That 190 really looks nice. Did you notice a release date?

Re: Witty's new F-14 and P-38

The P-38 is a sweet looking ship indeed and will fit in well wth 'Marge' and the Robin Olds aircraft. What really interests me is the fab FW-190 which IMHO makes a worthy replacement if the Corgi Schipol bird does not arrive.

Corgi's one I think is on the list to be canceled, and I'm just not too fond of the IXO version, so I'm happy this one is coming out (as long as Corgi's is in fact not).
As far the F-14, cool, but seriously, so many other 'regular' units to choose from.......I don't understand between this one, the blue agressor, and the christmas decoration one.......oh well.
