Re: Witty Pics III

I can tell you the tail code for the Blue & Gray one, it's AF70 470. However, I can't tell you the other one because I haven't gotten mine yet. I ordered it on Wednesday though.

Thanks Admin. I don't think that tail number can possibly be correct. It should refer to the serial number 70-0470: the first two digits referring to the fiscal year in which the aircraft was ordered, 1970. Of course, this is too early for F-16 orders. According to Joe Baugher's web-site this serial should refer to:
70-0469/0652 Cancelled contract for McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II

Someone please set me straight if I am wrong.

Re: Witty Pics III

The tail / serial number on the USAF green aggressor viper is 414 CTS
Adversary Tactics AF870321.
JP

Thanks JP. Now this tail number should be spot on. According to Joe Baugher's web-site, 87-0321 is:

87-0321 General Dynamics F-16C Block 32J Fighting Falcon
C/n 5C-582

What gives with the blue and gray aggressor?

Re: Witty Pics III

Just ordered that Thunderbirds F-16 and really did it b/c of your photos. I wanted a clean C with no ordinance. Almost got the blue D but will try to hold off til next month. Really great! Saw them at GML last September and had to have it.

Re: Witty Pics III

Witty just screwed up. Should be 91-0470, and the real one's a Block 52, not 32. Wrong generation of F-16D. Here's a pic:

Hey DH... what about the Witty green aggressor? Does it represent F-16C block 32J? I haven't picked it up yet, but this is really the only Witty F-16 I am interested in.

Re: Witty Pics III

I don't own a Witty F-16, and no one's taken photos of the right areas for me to identify its features. It's probably more like a Block 25 than anything I'd guess. (Block 25 and 32 are pretty close, and an upgraded 25 is basically identical to a 32) Also, two-seaters are even harder to tell 25 vs 32. The Block 30/32's are the worst to pinpoint, as they have many variations within them, requiring *sub*block identifiers. Block 30A, 30B, etc. I can usually spot Block 30A, 30B, 30D, but the others are pretty much "look up the serial number". Of course, early block 30/32's were often upgraded to look like later block 30/32's 9which look like upgraded 25's), but the earliest 30's still retain the NSI style intakes, and thus are easily identifiable from any other 30. (Later blocks also have letters, but don't even try to tell those apart---almost of all them are purely "what software the avionics have loaded")

Re: Witty Pics III

T-birds F-16 arived today and other than the canopy not fitting well or staying up at all, it's very nice! I think some touchup paint around the inside of the canopy and body will help mask the black gap you see around the edge.

It's an 8/10 I suppose.

Re: Witty Pics III

I have a Witty Israeli F-16 with Scorpion on tail. Man I like this Witty jet. I think Witty did the best F-16 in 1/72.
