Re: The truth about pilots.

Man, that's a classic. Thanks for the post, Gavin...that gave me some good laughs!

Btw, did you guys know that Dean Martin's son was a USAF F-4 Phantom driver? His son died young too, IIRC.

Yes i remember... March 21, 1987, when his son Dean Paul Martin met an untimely death in when his Calif National Guard F-4 Phantom fighter jet crashed in a mountainous area of California, killing him and his RIO (Radar Intercept Officer), Ramon Ortiz. Martin's twelve-year-old son, Alexander, had watched his father take off on the ill-fated flight. .. Dean Martin never recovered from the loss of his son, and he retired from show business that same year.. In fact, from that point on his health went downhill on Dec 25,1995 when he passed away at the age of 78.I'll always remember Dean Martin
Thanks Gavin for posting that.

Re: The truth about pilots.

My dad has the DVD collection of The Dean Martin, and Carol Burnett shows and they are truly hilarious. TV has certainly changed quite a bit over the years and not necessarily for the better.

That's very sad story. I had no idea the extent of Dean Martins grieving for his son's loss on that tragic day, not to mention Dean Jr's 12 year old son. It's sadly tragic all the way around.

Re: The truth about pilots.

Well, according to recent news, this gag could now be updated to be about NASA Space Shuttle astronauts, I guess...
