Brick memory lane

The set he's holding when he says he's getting emotional is a set I once had. *sigh*

The Lego Secret Vault: Lego Secret Vault Contains All Sets In History
(site is a bit slow).

But one of those vaults, it IS a great system to keep empty boxes and undisplayed models in...

Can we try with real bullets now?

Re: Brick memory lane

That is cool -- I'd love to see that myself.

When I first discovered ebay, it was through a hunt for the 955 Auto Chassis TEchnic set, which I had wanted as a boy but never was able to talk Santa into delivering... I managed to buy one, and then scores of other classic lego technic sets, which I also started nabbing at local stores. Got a bit out of control... I managed to acquire all the Auto Chassis sets and build them, which satiated my lego fix. I sold them all (except 955 I think) and turned the $ into diecast (one vice for another). But as it turns out, I made a killing on reselling the sets, there was a bit of a lego boom a couple years back on ebay.

Re: Brick memory lane

Way cool! I had that Lego Space Galaxy Explorer when I was a kid, too!

I've always said that one of the first things I'd do if I won tens of millions of buckaroos in the lottery, would be to buy a warehouse full of legos and just play with them and build stuff for a few months. Then I'd donate 'em to kids charities around the world! Legos for everyone!

Re: Brick memory lane

Forgive me for going a little off topic but did any of you ever have a Bako set?

That was the very original building set using plastic bricks and metal rods.

The best toy I ever had in my youth was a Meccano set, it was a major influence in my choosing engineering as a career.

God Bless America.
