Avro Vulcan XH.558 (classic '50's Jet Bomber) Airborne £6 million later !

This Afternoon, after (much) National-Lottery money has funded her 'return' - Avro Vulcan XH.558 has returned to the skies again, Flying after an abscence of 14 years.............. (last Airborne in 1993 !!!!!!)

She was THE last Vulcan with the RAF, & beyond doubt, the 'star' performer & 'head-turner' at ANY airshow she attended.........

(as she no-doubt will be, from now on !!!!!!!!!!)

The Bristol-Olympus engines which power the sub-sonic 4 x engined 1950's 'Jet' bomber, are basically the same type as those that later went on to power the Concorde supersonic airliner (with changes, & made by Rolls-Royce of course !)

So, a noisy, VERY-large & (ultra)-Classic 1950's Museum-piece 4-engined Jet-bomber that Guzzles fuel, IS BACK IN THE SKY !!!!!!

I'd expect demand for Corgi's AA.48303 will skyrocket, & prices rise - especially as she (XH.558) will be participating at many U.K. airshow's next year (2008)

A £6 million pound refurbishment, & Gawd knows how many tons of fuel she'll consume............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look forward to seeing her fly over my house !!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

B.T.W. the link is to a 'Sky' news report........ VERY innacurate, the commentator can't even get the owners (or XH.558) "right", but forget the (so called) "expert" ("muppet") & enjoy the 'shaky' footage !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
