Re: More Luftwaffe guncam footage.

That's a great video; wish I knew enough Deutch to understand what the song's about.

Anybody check out some of those high deflection shots against the Libs...talk about Experten. Galland didn't look too happy with his fellow aviators during his briefing. Also, notice the B-25 shootdown appears to be a D-day striped variant, which would probably make it a close cousin of Corgi's RAF Mitchell, since the USAAF didn't use B-25s in the ETO (only 1 in the entire 8th AF, and it was lost during a special op.) Now the Luftwaffe served an evil regime, but its pilots should always be remembered for the courage in which they defended their homeland during the overwhelming allied air assault. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out most of the men depicted there would be dead by the end of the war.

Some great footage there. That said, there's always someone on the receiving end of camera gun footage.

Thanks Harry for sharing that! In one footage it looked like a Dornier Do-217 was getting shot down, didn't it?

Re: More Luftwaffe guncam footage.

I'd have to listen to the song a few more times to get the full jist of the lyrics, but part of the chorus is something like "How long can you go on without going crazy?"

I fully acknowledge the courage and skill of Luftwaffe pilots during the allied air campaigns of WWII. I discovered that I'm apparently a bit partisan, however, as I am decidedly ambivalent about seeing american bombers shot down.

That was an RAF B-25 that was getting shot down as Skysurfer had elaborated, it was a pretty rare aircraft..
