Re: F4 Phantom low fly-by...too low

I just got a email stating....
the pilot was the former squadron leader of the JG 71 "R" after this flight he retired.
So this must of been his farewell flight.
These shots are at Wittmund i'm told.

Oh, heck, he wasn't even flying inverted. I think he'll be OK (although if I'd done that in the USAF, I sure would have been grounded, probably forever).

I did a short "squadron exchange" with the Belgian Air Force back in the mid-80s (when I was flying F-111s from Lakenheath), and got to spend 2 weeks at a Belgian Mirage 5 base (Florennes, now an F-16 unit). I got to fly in the back seat of one of their 2-seaters. Anyway, suffice to say these guys didn't have to obey the same rules we did. They were doing eye-watering stuff right on top of their air base with everyone watching, and it was just part of the deal there. We US pilots could only shake our heads (with a little bit of envy I might add)...

I put in a google link on the 1st post so you can see it a little bigger.
You can see the nose art a little better too.

Angry Re: F4 Phantom low fly-by...too low

The only thing that upsets me about U-Tube stuff (as opposed to Ebaum's World, Alexis Park Inn videos, etc; etc.) is the fact that all you can download & save is the link to the video - they won't let you save the video itself. So, I don't mess with that site. Guess it's the principle of the thing... - J

There are programs that you can buy that will enable you to do this.

I'd love to have been present for that demonstration.

Na, I really like my hair! I wouldn't like loosing it to superheated exhaust gases...

But from a save distance that show would have been the bomb!
