Re: A-10 Video

Excellent tributes to this oft-maligned (particularly until Desert Storm), but fantastic aircraft.

I've never flown the A-10 but did control some in combat (as a Forward Air Controller in Desert Storm), and many times in peacetime training. The A-10 does the job far better than any other aircraft in the Close Air Support role (and I've controlled F-16s, Mirages of all sorts, Harriers from both USMC and RAF, F-18s, Jaguars, Tornados...). I don't think even the Su-25 can touch it (though I don't have personal experience with that)...

It also excels in the SANDY (Combat Search and Rescue Escort) role, much as the A-1 Skyraider did during Vietnam.

Cool Re: A-10 Video

Very cool, thanks for sharing Starman. Wasn't going to get an A10 initially, now I'm mightily tempted. Doggone rubber arm is so easily twisted!

I guessing either the pilot knew the guy filming or else he said to the pilot behind him "Watch me buzz this guy at the end of the runway".

I go with Flywires comments Starman. I would like to see a close up of a tank after an A10 had let loose that gun to see just how much damage is done.
The sky looked really busy during that first video it looks like fun was had by a lot of guys that day.

God Bless America.
