Thanks, Pappy. I had these saved in my favorites before, but lost them when the mother board died in the old computer. Glad to have them back!

Awesome indeed, even more so when you realise those chaps were just kids really. I have (sad to say) over 100 WW11 aircraft videos and one of my favorites is of a P47 squadron. Its the everyday life of pilots during the Italian operation called Strangle. Its full of gun camera action shots but even better it shows the men who flew those birds relaxing in makeshift tents and going about their everyday chores. No fancy hotels or comforts and always on the move. The video is made by Artsmagic Ltd. I dont know if it is still on sale but if you see it grab it quick its worth good money. A fascinating insight into the real life of a P47 pilot abroad.
Yup, those are music to my ears.

I have just watched the shots again and I must say that to dive in a Thunderbolt and still be able to control that big heavy bird and shoot straight at the same time takes some doing. I take my hat off to those men, A very special breed indeed.

That video makes one appreciate the value of airpower (or the lack thereof) ...
