Re: Me 262 flies again!

Well...it's not really in my backyard...but pretty darn close!! This is at the DVHAA musuem on the Willow Grove Naval Air Station. They have a nice little collection here, including the 2 seat 262. They used to have a lot of planes sitting outside the fences, and then finally decided to restore some and put some in a better facility, basically under instruction from the Navy or the Navy was going to take them away. There's a pretty big story behind it all, but anyways....now the 262 is complete....and sitting inside the nice little museum. It's very hard to get a good shot because the museum is really small, but here's two anyways....and oh yeah, did you guys know the 262 had off road capability?

Re: Me 262 flies again!

Thank you for posting the nice pics Waltz. I appreciate it.

That's a nice shine on the nose of the plane too.

It would be in his back yard given the chance

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Me 262 flies again!

I believe Flugwerke were the guys making the 190 replicas. If memory serves they even had permission to use the correct serial numbers. I know that there are at least 2 but there amy be more.
They have a good website which is worth a visit.

I was in Denver,Co last year and there is Richthofen castle on 12th ave. made by MVR uncle back in 1883.But the owner there has a Red Fokker Dr.1 triplane in the front yard and it was For Sale Castle and all when i saw it.
