I have been reading the post with great interest, I would like to clarify a point . I was under the impression that only about 5% of German POWs every returned to Germany. All the rest vanished!

I suppose I am trying to say that all dictators are Subhuman evil B.....ds. It makes no difference be they right or left.

Also its a valid point to say that as ye sow so shall ye reap. It could be said that the Germans started the brutallity and the Russains retaliated.

Imho had the Germans gone into Russia as liberators they would have walked it easy. But what happened after the front line troops had passed through beggers belief. The SS and others of their hideous ilk commited terrible mass murders for no purpose other than sick perverted enjoyment.

However I digress from the real topic . Hartman and many others were not evil. They were just doing a job. Many many germans were good honest people taken in by a madman. They payed a bitter price in the end.
