Book: Air Aces of WW II

(Vital Guide) Air Aces of WWII by Robert Jackson; Airlife Publishing; 2003.

Picked up this pocket reference over the holiday. Decent little book. Small soft back; 106 pages. 104 "Aces" are covered. Each "ace" gets 1/2 to 3/4 of a page (text) for thumbnail bio sketch and the rest of the page has a pic.

Most all are aces in the traditional sense but there are some covered who were bomber pilots - i.e Doolittle; Rudel; and female Russian pilot Eugenie Rudneva (and a few others). Also one page dedicated to the aces of the AVG. All pilots in alphabetical listing.

Pretty good reference for an overview and to spur further interest in specific aces/pilots. There are some omissions, but overall a pretty good list for reference purposes.

Re: Book: Air Aces of WW II

Did you get it on-line or from a brick-n-mortar shop? Thanks.
