| Re: Comparison Pictures Boeing Superbug & 1/200 Hogan M-Series CVW-5 I finally received my first Hogan, a Su-27UBK as based at Suixi AB in China. The model is wonderful, and the paint job is first class, with a beautifully reproduced matt finish. I can't post any pictures now (my camera was borrowed and taken to Russia for some holidays...), but the model has to be seen to be fully appreciated. It is a top-quality model that looks and feels much better than most 1/72 reproductions I've seen.
This version comes with empty pylons, but a scheme on the box illustrates the right positioning of various pieces of ordnance at the different undersurface stations, hence it looks like Hogan will also produce accessory sets including bombs, missiles, drop tanks, etc. The down side is that I could not assess whether these models share with their Herpa counterparts that silly tendency to drop their payload en route.
Now here's my recommendation: even if you're into other scales, buy at least one of these small replicas as a one-off, hold it in your hands, and see for yourselves...
A fast Google search could not find a Hogan Wings homepage; this is a "minus" point that may jeopardize a brilliant future for this range (and other ranges by this manufacturer). I hope someone is listening out there, either Hogan Wings themselves or some Hogan-specific buff à la Hawkonevoodoo and his excellent page on Hobby Master products. |
