Re: Pride of IJN

Hey, Tedongganas -- that Takara Yamato is very nice indeed! Now you have to get an Agano-class cruiser to escort it! (I am still early awaiting mine...)

I hope Takara puts out some more sectionals, like the Arizona, Missouri or Fuso. Or -- this would be cool -- a carrier!

Nrrrm! Whoosh! Rat-tat-tat!
--sounds of a happy diecast collector

Thnx Folgore. I'd really love to add the Agano class cruiser the Yahagi to my collection but after i've had an eye and blood pressure checked.Takara makes great prepainted model series. I think you still need some model making experience to build them. The instructions are in Japanese so you'll have to figure out which part to assemble first. To make matters worse the pictures are too tiny to make out which parts goes where.Theres about one hundred tiny fragile parts to assemble to the model and some of these needs some filing and sand paper to fit. One wrong move that's it. !!! Its a struggle for me who does not have a model making experience.Took me almost 2 days making this model = many hours of headachesand frustrations and eye strain.
I'm not trying to discourage you or anything but i'm just sharing my experience building this model.Anyway thnx for the compliments Folgore. Please post pics of the Yahagi once you complete it .

Thnx dj. Its in 1/700 scale. The model is prepainted and needs assemly.IMHO you need some model making experience to complete this model. Its as great model and its prepainted the only downside is the instruction are way too small to comprehend or see which parts goes where. And i think you still need glue for some parts cuz some parts comes loose when assembled.
Cheers

Thnx CC.If you are looking for the whole fleet look for the Furuta brand.Total 6 ships per set.The models are about 7cm each quite neat.

Same here, looking forward to some photos of the Agano. I like the looks of the Japanese cruisers.

Re: Pride of IJN

Looks like 2 days well spent putting an awesome model together. Well done, Tedongganas! Now I am also very tempted to get one for myself, but I am fast running out of showcase space!
