If anyone is still interested in this thread -

Yesterday 6/2/08, I shipped a Corgi 1:32 ME Bf 109 Hackl to New Zealand.

USPS Airmail/priority
7 lbs. 2.2 oz (total package weight)
Automatically insured up to $85.48 USD

Cost to ship = $54.25

Re: shipping downunder

And it's going to a good home DADoser - the Corgi Bf109G series are the pick of the 1/32 Corgi litter in my opinion .

Thats not to bad of a price to ship to New Zealand is it?
I was thinking how much it cost to ship a Lancaster there...
Would be close to the same size box.

Re: shipping downunder

The Mule shipped G George Lanc to me over the weekend for $44 which is very cheap.
I have had another Lanc priced a couple of days back at $59 which Is what i'd expect for the size / weight.

I have a 1/32 Lane spit inbound - $56 for that so all in all i've not noticed any big price rises for freight into NZ. Different story out-bound though, our postage prices both internall & externally went up a couple of months back

Take it out and play with it

The Flying Mule's shipping prices are excellent and I believe below 'normal' rates - definitely a retailer that cares for his international customers .

I'll bet - since The Mule has "free" (domestic) shipping on orders over X $ amount (essentially any "Heavy" or 1:32 scale Corgi), They probably take off the amount it would cost to ship within the US and then charge the difference for international shipping.

Just a guess, but since their rates seem to be below "normal" - I'll bet that's what The Mule does.

Re: shipping downunder

With the near parity of the AU$ and the US$ at the moment, its a good time to be buying from the U.S. I am currently awaiting the delivery of 2 GMP Kittyhawks which have set me back the relatively small amount of $56 for shipping to Oz. I find that it is still quite expensive to ship from Europe, so I generally pass when an opportunity arises.

I've bought quite a few heavies or multiple planes (to offset the shipping) from the aviation megastore and found the shipping price reasonable.... but for some unknown reason stuff from the UK makes me cringe in the corner when it comes to postage, the bad thing is it only delays my purchase for a couple of days before I talk myself into it.

Thats odd...This all sounds very familiar..

I find with the smaller 1:72 fighters ex UK aren't to bad for shipping, still cheaper than buying here in Aus.The heavies is another story all together.Best to try and find what you want ex US.

Re: shipping downunder

yes it funny that even with $50 to 60 shipping you can still get better deals that what you can locally
