Canucklehead, it is now about 25 days since 25th October, so 30 days is fast approaching.

Shipping times are quoted in Business days, that does not include weekends.
It's been 19 Business days thus far, also the Canadian post office does not work on Saturdays like USPS.
Trust me I ship USPS way too much, I know these things.

Re: Problems with shipping from US to Canada, mad Ebay buyer, need advice??

As of right now I have a feedback score of almost 600, with no negative or nutrals.
Over 90% or that rating is from items I have sold!
It would be silly for someone to file & unsent item against me, Im not in the biz of ripping people off as my feedaback clearly shows!

I can vouch for Gerry's (PhantomPhan's) integrity - an F-4 Phantom he shipped to me a year or so back disappeared in the mail, never to be seen again. After a reasonable length of time, when it still had not turned up, he fully refunded my payment. So there is no way he is ripping people off!

BTW Gerry, I'm still looking for a black-tailed RAF Phantom, if one ever turns up!

I had to wait 8 weeks for delivery of some DVD's earlier in the year from USA.
Seems customs are in no rush to sort through imports.
Pretty hot on charging though

Seems to me to take at least 2-3 weeks on anything from outside of Canada

I think to be on the safe side of thing when shipping out of the country is to have it shipped UPS,FedEx or DHL with tracking you can't go wrong.

The problem with courier services is that they often ding the buyer with service fees. I got hit for $85 (US) last year by UPS on a Corgi Lancaster, which is why I only will buy from sellers that offer USPS as an option now.

That may be, however the cut off time to open a resolution via say Paypal is 45 days inclusive of weekends and there is a further 20 days to escalate that to a claim if the buyer and seller can't resolved the issue.

PP I'm not taking sides here, I'm just explaining what I would have done in that buyers situation as I would prefer to open a resolution rather than risk exceeding the 45 day period.

And as I said earlier I feel it is best that sellers use mandatory tracking methods and pass such costs onto the buyer. You will find that most buyers are happy to pay the additional expense, especially if it is mentioned in the listing.

That may be ture but my problem with your post was when you said he needs to file a claim because he has know way of knowing I shipped his parcel. I knda took that the wrong way, almost as some sort of personal jab. Im here asking for peoples help on the issue so I can help the buyer, so I was confused & why that was said.

I do understand it from the buyers POV & it prolly bothers me more than him that the parcel has not arrived yet.
I told the buyer I would give him a full refund if his model does not show by next week!

As far as people willing to pay extra for shipping costs.
It seems like most people on Ebay are looking for deals in the first place, from what I have seen they want to spend as little as possible on the item & the shipping.
Everytime I have sold something overseas on Ebay I offer both insured & uninsured shipping rates & services.
99.9% of the time people go with the cheaper uninsured rate & take the risk.
USPS does not offer tracking on those services if you want tracking you have to go with FedEx or UPS.
In most cases the shipping alone form those two services costs at least twice as much as the item the person is buying.

Cool PP, and I have NO doubts about your honesty. Perhaps Canadian customs do random checks so some parcels are more delayed than others, I just don't know.

Re: Problems with shipping from US to Canada, mad Ebay buyer, need advice??

Good news, got a email from the buyer today saying his Buccaneer arrived. As so many have said here looks like it was just a metter of time.

I just wonder why that one took so long while other Canadian shipments got there much faster?
Im just glad everything worked out in the end.
I swear I may stop shipping outside the US because of stuff like this, I stress out to much.
