| Re: eFX to produce high-end diecast Star Wars vehicles I'll be interested to see what they come up with. However, if you are looking for diecast, I surmise we will be dissapointed. Many of the Star Wars things I've picked up, including a Darth Vader statue I just recently grabbed, have LOTS of light plastic in them. (Most all of the base on my statue is plastic. Looks great when assembled and I'm more than pleased, but it was a little shocking pulling a "ceramic" statue out of the box and feeling the lack of weight. Right pretty, but for the "rivet counters" there will be vast cries of "I spent how much for this load of plastic!" | ||||||||||||||

| Re: eFX to produce high-end diecast Star Wars vehicles I agree. Most of officially licensed Star Wars merchandise is overpriced for what you get. I just hope this new company can come up with a decent balance between quality and selling price. I'm holding judgment until I actually see what they come up with. By the way, what Darth Vader statue are you referring to? I assume you are talking about the Cinecast version with the "lava" base. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: eFX to produce high-end diecast Star Wars vehicles Commander Straker, Hey there. Yeah, I presume we are talking about the same one. I have the box right next to me and Cinescape is not marked on the box, Hasbro is. (If they are one in the same, I apologize for being a doofus.) However it is Vader standing over a broken platform above a lava flow. The staue looks great when assembled and seeing that I got it for $60.00, I'm more than pleased, but the plastic base really did throw me. Actually, when I pulled it out of the box (I had previously only seen it on display, but never held it.) I started looking for the wire running into it thinking that there must be a light inside, otherwise the base would be ceramic, right? < lol > It's a great statue and Darth Vader himself is cold cast, but everything is plastic. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: eFX to produce high-end diecast Star Wars vehicles That would be the one. Hasbro has actually come out with two different cinecast (may be cinemacast, not sure of spelling) Vader statues over the years. You have the one they came out with a couple of years ago for Revenge of the Sith. I don't have that one but I do have the one they released in the early 90's. They went totally the opposite direction with that release. The add for it back then showed this nice platform or catwalk base that looked like it was made of stamped metal. But when I got it out of the box I was disappointed to find out it was a solid chunk of resin painted to look like a metal catwalk. I still have that one. I refer to it as the "Pinhead" Vader statue because to me it appears his head is too small for his body. It was kind of unique for its time since there weren't many Star Wars collectibles available in the early 90's. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: eFX to produce high-end diecast Star Wars vehicles Commander Straker, Ouch, you make it sound a little off putting. Sorry to hear about that. As I said above, mine looks great. Especially for the price. It's not till you lift it (Or pull it out of the packaging.) that you can tell it's plastic. I'm sure if I looked really close I could tell before hand, but I saw it from a foot or two away in a show case. All the pieces on mine fit nice and flush, though some of the pieces took a little elbow grease to get in. For $60.00 it s a great item. I'm sure there will be more filtering into the market cheap given time. | ||||||||||||||
