Re: Battlestar Pegasus vs Imperial Star Destroyer

Oh my goodness, all you geeks are SO WRONG! Serenity would fly circles around you and Mal would kick your butts!

Now DJ Jeff, you are so wrong! Those of us in here are NERDS, not GEEKS. There IS a difference...
BTW, what's Serenity?

Re: Battlestar Pegasus vs Imperial Star Destroyer

Rush104,
HA! You nerd you! HA!

Serenity was the ship in the TV show Firefly. It was a very short lived series by the guy who created Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel. Despite the fact that it only lasted 14 episodes the show had such a fanatical following that the DVD of the TV show sold WAY beyond all expectations. They then made a movie, called Serenity (After the ship) to tie up all the loose ends of the show. It was an amazingly well thought out and fleshed out universe, but way beyond the expectations for FOX television, who put the show out.

One of the more frequesnt posters around here, whose name is excaping me at the moment, has a line from the movie as his signature and a picture of the lead actor as his moniker. I've just settled for Morena Baccarin as my desktop picture.

Anything for a weird life.

Cool. The fan base for "Firefly" sounds like it's as rabid as the "Jericho" fan base.
Now, speaking of nerdy activities, in a little while I'm going to pop my "Clutch Cargo" DVD into the player...

Re: Battlestar Pegasus vs Imperial Star Destroyer

You all have forgotten about the High Guard Andromeda (Muhhahaha). Armed with anti-proton cannons, point defence lasers and the devasting point singularity projector. Oh yeah and the mighty Nova bombs too. That and Rommie is way more smokin hot than the Pegasus commander.

Alright Cruver, if this keeps up, you know what's gonna happen? Somebody (and I don't care who) is going to start a thread where we are going to debate the hottest women in sci-fi. In fact, for whoever starts this thread, the title should be "Who is the Hottest Babe in Sci-Fi?".
You've been warned my friend!

Well it is OBVIOUSLY going to be Princess Leia who wins, hands down.

Oh and by the way, The Millenium Falcon was modelled on a burger, not a toilet seat.

Re: Battlestar Pegasus vs Imperial Star Destroyer

This is all just stupid. We all know deep down that every ship you have cared to mention would be utterly thrashed by the Scimitar from Star Trek Nemesis by its thaloron radiation.

Now, since we're talking obscure shows, does anybody remember "Quark", starring Richard Benjamin?
