PE is coming out with a Space 1999 Hawk next year. It's going to be one of the ultra-expensive 1/48 scale Supermarionation version, however. There also coming out with a Laser & Comlock set late this year.

You better start quick.. Try Fab Gear or Culttvman.. This new deal which took over PE that product line is just gonna be way too expensive for most collectors (Unless you are really, REALLY rich)!! There are some deals to be had - yet, but don't wait too long..

Re: Any Space 1999 Eagle Fans Here??

That really stinks that P.E. is dropping the 1/72 line in favor of the high end studio scale line. I was really looking forward to someday getting a 1/72 scale Hawk to go along with my Eagle. Hopefully Gerry Anderson will authorize another company to pick up the 1/72 scale diecast line. The studio scale models are great and all, but the average collector doesn't have that much disposable income floating around (or the shelf space). I guess I should consider myself lucky, I did manage to score a pair of the small Japanese candy toy Hawks on E-Bay a couple of years ago at a relatively low price. These puppies are now going for around $100 a piece. If you haven't seen these yet you should check them out. They are about the same size as the Titanium series Star Wars ships but in my opinion they are much better detailed. They are plastic though, not diecast. There are candy toys (I can't remember the actual Japanese term for these) available for nearly all the Gerry Anderson shows, including Space:1999, UFO and Thunderbirds.

I can only speculate that the new PE (they were bought by a company and I can't remember the name) is focusing on the 1/48th "studio scale" models because of tooling costs. Their Supermarionation Eagle was part-for-part identical to Replicas Unlimited's resin Eagle kit- except PE's had an "outtie" pod door while RU's had an 'innie". I'm guessing that the studio scale tooling costs are low because they just pay to use the existing molds, of previously released resin kits, and just have their folks in Hong Kong assemble and paint them.
