Cylon Raider "Scar" spotted

In Target on my way home from work this evening...

Spotted and bought the new Hasbro Titanium Battlestar Galactica "Scar" Cylon Raider. $4.99 and tax. If you collect these, happy hunting. If you don't, you should take a closer look.

(No new Star Wars ships seen on this recon.)

Re: Cylon Raider "Scar" spotted

I believe the "classic" 70's Colonial Viper is supposed to be in that assortment as well. It's on eBay already...

Is the "Scar" Raider much different from the first one DADoser?

Is the "Scar" Raider much different from the first one DADoser?

Yes.

You'll def. want to pick this one up - especially if you are a fan of the new series.

While the mold is exactly the same as the first raider released, the paint scheme is totally different. Overall color is a gray w/purplish tint - same color as the lighter highlights on the 2nd Viper released in this series. There are some very subtle darker gray shadowing/weathering on the body, but this Raider is pretty much one tone. (While the first reminds me of a purple and black space tiger-striped camo pattern.) Due to the single tone, the panel lines are clearer/cleaner looking on the "Scar" model.

The real impressive difference is in the "face" of "Scar" - it is very distinct/detailed compared to the first release viper.

Also different are the 3 red "lights/exhaust/whatever they are on the rear. Original release they are gloss read and painted to resemble red police lights turned on their side. The "Scar" version, just the ends are painted in more of a orange-red and almost resemble the burning end of a cigarette. Despite my feeble descriptions - both look good (from the rear) and distinctly different.

When I first saw "Scar" on the shelf, I didn't think it was that different/distinct from the first Raider release - but putting them side by side - they are distinctly different at just a glance.

Hope this helps.

Re: Cylon Raider "Scar" spotted

Found and picked up the original viper today - not that big a fan of the original series, but this was way too cool to pass up.
