Re: Corgi 2007: Star Trek 40th Anniversary

I have heard rumours (and only rumours at this point) that this line will be discontinued in the very near future, sadly before the Defiant and Voyager are released. Sorry my nerdly friends.

I really hope you're wrong Canucklehead as Voyager is the one that I'm waiting for ...

(BTW just who are you calling nerdly ... ? )

Canucklehead,
Where did you hear they were killing the line? The two ships I've picked up are spectacular and I was really looking forward to more in the future.

That's unfortunate, but thanks for sharing the rumor. I'd definitely add Corgi's Defiant and Voyager to my Star Trek collection if they do end up making them.

I hope the rumor is just that...'rumor'. I'm hoping to get the Defiant and Voyager as well.

I'd be happy with a "bust"...

I had an email from a dealer confirming that the other models were cancelled - bummer!

Re: Corgi 2007: Star Trek 40th Anniversary

It seems a strange business decision to me, because you'd think there are more potential Star Trek collectors out there compared to WWII aircraft collectors. For one thing, 50% of the population, women, are more likely to be fans of Star Trek than warplanes. For example, my coworker is an African-American woman who grew up watching ST because of Nichelle Nichol's prominent role, and she was looking forward to buying a Defiant model. My wife was a fan of ST: Voyager, and the only interest she's EVER shown in my diecast collecting was when I mentioned a Voyager model may be in the works. Oh well, I guess they just want to focus on their core constituency.

Re: Corgi 2007: Star Trek 40th Anniversary

I was really looking forward to collecting all the starships....Now this...
Maybe it's a tradmark thing Paramount Pictures wanted more money from Corgi to produce their other starships and Corgi didn't want to pay the extra
money for it....Who knows.
