I vote NBA. I believe that the referee gambling threatens the legitimacy of the impartiality of their calls. It also brings into question many past games and possibly any future ones.

Agreed.. Brings back the subject of whether games were fixed as many had suspected in the past..

Re: Sports: Who's in the most trouble?

The NBA is in the most trouble by far.... the most boring playoff finals in history... refs fixing games... and teams full of street punks that can't spell their own names and will punch out a fan at the drop of a hat.... the days of Larry, Michael, Magic, Isiah, et al are long gone. I was a major NBA fan, now I probably watch 3-4 games a year, and with the prices skyrocketing I doubt I'll ever go to another.

ASide from a few bad apples the NFL is in good shape I think -- incredibly even teams, exciting playoffs, good rivalries.... no worries for me there. (Vick's just proven his character for the world to see and I hope he gets what any normal Joe would for the crime/crimes... I don't think his actions bring down the NFL, long as the NFL responds appropriately should he be convicted (of which there appears little doubt at the moment).

Baseball's in decent shape I think overall, but I really only watch the playoffs, which as a lifelong Red Sox fan has meant I haven't watched mutch at all -- until lately, that is.....

Hockey.... um... dunno, don't really care...
Soccer... ditto that... but at least getting DB over here has made things a bit more exciting.

I'd love to see soccer rise in prominence in the U.S. I can hardly ever catch any UEFA games on TV.

I'm voting basketball. Even before the ref scandal that is starting up, the sport seemed to have degenerated into "thugishness".

Anything for a weird life.

The Galaxy couldn't have picked a better time to bring in David Beckham. I would say that if it has any chance of really catching on in the US this perfect storm of leagues in controversy or crisis would have to be the perfect lead off.
