now i've heard it all -- ebay story

So, a little while ago I sold an original CDC Armour Collection Old Crow on ebay -- the buyer sends me the wrong amount in the MO, so I wait another week or so for the rest... I ship it out. And he's upset that it's not a FM-branded model because there is no COA?? He is claiming my auction headline was deceiving as I said "CDC Armour Franklin Mint Old Crow"

My description clearly describes it as an original CDC release:

Armour Collection Franklin Mint P-51 Old Crow 1:48 - eBay (item 280267969562 end time Sep-23-08 16:11:21 PDT)

Am I nuts? What is there to complain about here -- the model is in perfect shape, pad-printed, and without that extra clamp hole in the bottom. I only included Franklin Mint in the headline for search hits for people looking for the Old Crow... not to be deceptive, certainly.

Sheeesssssssssssh. Wow bids on an ebay auction without reading the description?

I've offered to return his money if he sends it back at his expense. That's as far as I'll go -- unless my zinc brothers tell me here I'm all wet.

Man, it'll suck to get my first neg feedback for something silly like this.

(scratches head....)

I don't think the auction header is deceiving and further more, did he not read the rest of the information you provided??? You include the specific model number and it's pretty much self explanatory as to what you're selling. Pappy, I think you're being very reasonable with your offer and hopefully this guy will get a clue.

Steve, don't let his potential negative feedback phase you! One negative WILL NOT affect your standing and most Ebayers know that there is no pleasing some people. Your description is perfectly legit and, IMHO, there was no deception in your listing!

I too had a similar situation where the buyer didn't read my listing and claimed that I didn't list the word "small" but instead listed an "s" which to him was deceptive. I offered to refund his money even after he wrote this belligerent email threatening to report me and such. Anyway, to make a long story short, I lost my patience and told him to kiss off, complained to Ebay and reported him (he had 4 feedbacks, 2 of which were negative and I had 100% on over 250 feedbacks) and Ebay suspended him for threatening me.....tada!

Unfortunately, Ebay didn't remove his negative but it hasn't EVER affected my auctions!

Good luck....and I wouldn't refund him!!!!

Worse case is 1 negative vs 420 positive. To hell with this guy. I would buy from anyone with as many positive as you. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

No worries Steve.. He's not happy and it isn't your fault, if he does leave neg feedback, you'll get a chance to respond and go on. I don't think it will affect you that much as most people understand that you can't always please everyone.

I agree with the others, Pappy. I had a buyer not read the description, file a claim with Paypal which he lost and still gave me a negative. It is bound to happen if we use the 'bay.

Re: now i've heard it all -- ebay story

Thanks all -- I guess I just needed confirmation that I wasn't crazy (though asking for that from this group... hmmm... )

I think there is a pretty big language barrier issue, too -- reading the guy's complaints to me is a bit of a word jumble puzzle.

I know 1 neg feedback won't really affect me too much, it's the point I guess, which chaffs my...

I'll let you know how it turns out.

Pappy, we were not confirming that you " are not crazy ". I don't know if anyone can confirm that.

We were just confirming you had nothing to worry about. Isn't it nice to have such good friends.
