Re: JU-87D ...Transport??!

Here are some more pics of it during the test.. My intel says it was intended as an agent drop plane and that the capsules were meant to be jettisioned but it was too cumbersome..

These things HAD to have been a beast to land in a crosswind!

Anybody noticed the different nose profiles in the two pictures? They suggest some mods or perhaps two aircraft? Difficult to tell as no identification markings for comparison.

Re: JU-87D ...Transport??!

Being a test pilot for that ugly looking Stuka would really make me feel a little uneasy.
That kind of weight on both sides and full of fuel and the pilot and rear gunner you would think the wing would give out and snap right off there.
Be heavy thats for sure

He was a complete fighter pilot.......Colonel John C. Meyer Deputy Commander of the 352nd.

Either way, that is one crazy looking airplane.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.
