Re: Blazing Angels

I haven't played it yet, but I hear it is great. Over the weekend I beat the latest Ace Combat. I was excited, my wife really is starting to wonder about me.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Blazing Angels

Initially I liked this game okay, then I got to that mission where you're in the spit flying around in a sandstorm needing to locate some bases... made me want to toss it out the window Beat that one yet?

Yeah I beat it this morning...it is a pain of a mission and they don't get easier..I would have tossed it out the window by now if I would have bought it for x-box or ps2. I'm really starting to like it more now that I'm getting the hang of it. I just hate how the Japanese and the Germans speak English

Re: Blazing Angels

I tried this, but I prefer traditional light-weight sims, like Warbirds 2006.

Re: Blazing Angels

I wouldn't mind a good English speaking enemy!

I've tried to play the German side in the PC Game "Battle of Britian II". You have to remember the difference between your Staffel, your Gruppe and your Gerschwader. It's enough to make you feel like a dumkopf!

Talking Re: Blazing Angels

I have overlooked this thread until today! I beat BA awhile back and agree the dialog is laughable! The Germans are the worst though!
It is a fun game though, I absolutely love the beginning w/ the Gladiator, very cool! That last scenario in the canal is a B---- and a half though!
My favorite flight/dogfighter currently though is "Heroes of the Pacific". Good depth and better overall value than BA.
You can also get a number of cool codes on the Internet to unlock all planes and a number of Axis birds, which are very cool.
I have defended Pearl Harbor on the highest difficulty level w/ an ME-262!!! That was a nothing though compared to the same stunt w/ a TBD Devastator!!! Imagine the shock to those Japanese pilots! I usually play it through "straight up" first then play with the various codes, it’s a gas!

Question Re: Blazing Angels

God help me, but I have to ask - where can I find a review of the various computer games for air combat and armor battles? I am not familiar with any of them, so don't know what's required and how they compare. I'm sure some are much better than others. If I get started with these games my wife and I may not be speaking to each other much anymore!

Re: Blazing Angels

I usually like to go to Amazon.com and check people's reviews there. There's usually tons of them for computer games.
