I'm a Scoutmaster and I'm taking my Scouts (about 20) to the Edwards AFB Open House and Airshow (Thunderbirds return ) and I'm having a tough time locating a camp site in the area. I'm afraid we can't camp on base grounds so any suggestions about a site within 30 miles would be appreciated.

how rough do you want to rough it?. there is alot of open areas to camp, but nothing with creature comforts ( ex: toilets). I use to live in Ridgecrest next to China lake NAWS. I use to go out camping out in a area called Jawbone canyon. It's off hwy14 . There is a small store there also..but it is roughing it. Good luck..... ..

Ps. I hope this link might help. i'm not sure if it will work. Jawbone is almost north of Edwards.
