Re: Membership involvement in production or flying of aircraft

I worked on the Dash 8 for a while at U.S. Air. One of the finest passenger aircraft built in my book. I now am the Flight Operations Manager for an Air Ambulance company. We fly the Dolphin, EC-145, EC-135, and the BK-117. In my spare time I volunteer at the National Museum of the USAF in Dayton, OH. I also fly warbirds with the CAF, do Young Eagle Flights with the EAA, and am a member of the National Museum of Naval Aviation, EAA, NMUSAF, Air America Foundation, AOPA, Warbirds of America, Planes of Fame.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Membership involvement in production or flying of aircraft

Currently seeking out a job as a flight instructor in the Atlanta area. Will likely get back up into the air sometime this week after way too long of an absence.

Re: Membership involvement in production or flying of aircraft

I used to be a project engineer for Pratt & Whitney on PW2000 (B757) and F117 (C-17) engines. I then went to work for Williams International (small jet engines) in a variety of roles and ended up playing a minor role in launching what is now the Eclipse VLJ aircraft. Now I work in the automotive industry - better money and perks but much less interesting .

I am also a sidelined private pilot (Cessna 152, 172) - I hope to get back to it someday!

I was America's Ace of Aces in WW I.........why they now have me in this white, padded room, I don't know And, daggone, it's hard to type with this very long-armed shirt that they put on me backwards!

I wondered who it was making all the noise in the next room to mine.

Re: Membership involvement in production or flying of aircraft

I have been working at the French Civil Aviation Administration since 1992 :

At the AIS from 1992 to 1996 (International Notam Office) ; then at the DGAC (French FAA) headquarter from 1996 to 1999 (ICAO affairs).

Now, I am at Brest ATCC, where I have been working at the Quality of Service and Safety Division since 2000.

I also used to be a keen private pilot (Rallye, DR400, TB10, PA28) but other financial priorities led me to suspend flying in 2001.

Re: Membership involvement in production or flying of aircraft

I spent the first 25 years of my career as an Aerospace Engineer working for the Navy. My specialty was composite materials and structures. I did basic and applied research helping put graphite/epoxy on the F-18 and AV-8B. I also owned a Schweitzer 1-26 sailplane for a few years.

Indecision is therefore the key to Airpower.
