The wife and diecast

So Mrs.Parsig wants a new lamp for the dining room.
Humph, that's nice dear...

She says," It can't cost anymore than a Spitfire".

That's great dear!

"Well, a Donald Duck Spitfire anyway."

She has learned too much...

Re: The wife and diecast

You married a very smart woman.

The only reason that I am still in one piece, along with all my toys, is that my wife is a late 40's and 50's doll collector. It's more or less a Mexican stand off!

Re: The wife and diecast

You guys are getting off cheap. My wife has no problem with my diecast purchases. She figures it is worth all the scrapes she puts on her car.

Re: The wife and diecast

Big tip :

I got a load of those printed peel-off stickers from a friend ( or you can collect likely ones from purchases ).

They read : " SALE.......WAS.........NOW...........!

Fill in the blanks with your imagination. Stick them on the plastic covering where they can be peeled off with ease. Make a great show of saying ( after rehearsal ) : " look what I got at the sale! The economy's shot! They're giving the stuff away! "

I rest my case!

Re: The wife and diecast

Give me a break. You guys don't know what real diecast pain is.

My wife, bless her heart, requires production of all receipts, know matter how small, because she is a strict budgeter. And, with the ability to access our bank account online in real time, she knows exactly how much and when the old ATM is used. She compares the ATM withdrawals when she reconciles the budget with the receipts I provide.

No cash transactions under the hobby store counter for OC, I'm afraid.
