Re: Video of Israeli F-15 flying with 1 wing

It just makes me cringe when I see stock footage of 40-50 year old airplanes being depicted in these kind of documentaries.

I might be wrong, but it looked like the other airplane they were saying was involved in this incident was an F-100. And, I honestly do not think Israel would be flying an airplane that old.

Yep - have the sound off cos I'm at work, but it did indeed look like a F-100.

Yes, the Eagle driver involved says it's an A-4 bird that he had collided with. The F-100 Super Sabre were never employed with the IAF inventory.

Re: Video of Israeli F-15 flying with 1 wing

The History Channel was the one who made the episode, maybe they were the ones who edited that clip and put an F-100 in the film instead of an A-4.
I always wondered when the IAF Bombed the Iraqi Nuclear plant how they show the F-16 fly by a mosque in Iraq, I figured they edited it to tell the story,
That is what I took the misplaced A-4 with an F-100 as.

Re: Video of Israeli F-15 flying with 1 wing

Just a little piece of trivia:
Col.Ilan Ramon was one of the Israel F-16 fighter pilot participant during that Iraqi Nuke plant raid. Most of us know him as was one of the 7 crewmember of the Columbia shuttle disaster in Feb. 2003.
