Panther tank, interesting photo

Have seen numerous pictures of tanks blown upside down but not this one until now. Looks perfectly balanced on turret and I don't see any signs of damage.

Re: Panther tank, interesting photo

Neat photo, still looked in fairly good shape from the side showing.

Re: Panther tank, interesting photo

Looks like it was frozen to the ground when it went over. There's turf stuck to the contact surface of the lower track.

Re: Panther tank, interesting photo

Bomb blast could have tipped it over. The terrain doesn't look like it would cause a rollover.

I am surprised you guys couldn't figure that one out.....

The jerry's were in ther middle of swapping the batteries out and got scared off by a plane., This is perfectly normal for these tanks.

If you look closely enough you can just see the on/off switch.

Re: Panther tank, interesting photo

I recall reading that jug pilots would try to "bounce" their .50 cals up under tanks during straffing runs. If they managed to set a 5 inch rocket under this tank, would it flip it?
