book recommendations?

Was after any interesting books you guys might recommend that deal with American ground attack during WWII, I am quite interested in the British 2nd TAF and the role they played but would like to enlarge my knowledge base plus I like to read a good book as well. Would really like anything to do with the P47 and the pilots who flew them. In fact if you know of any book that fits the Ground attack/support let me know

Cheers

Re: book recommendations?

I haven't read it, myself, however, "Second To None: The History Of The 368th Fighter Group" might be an interesting read. This was an all-P-47 outfit involved in lots of "jabo" attacks in Northern Europe. The book is offered for sale by the fighter group association. Just punch in the book's name and you will find all the info you need.

Re: book recommendations?

I have only two books about the P-47

> Republic P-47 Thunderbolt - the Operational Record < by Jerry Scutts.
It is about the different types, pilots, missions flown ( also a short part on Ground Attack ) other countries that have used it form their AF´s
Some colour drawings and pictures.

The other one is :
P-47 Thunderbolt Units of the Eight Air Force from Classic Publications, part of their American Eagle series
This is has tons of pictures, colour profiles and a general overview of the P-47 in Europe. But sorry, no special about ground attack

The one who forgets about history, is doomed to relive it
