Want to make the USAF cry w/o touching them?

Here is a little story from my Transition Team training at Ft Riley.
During the Combat Lifesavers Course (CLS) the topic of de-masking proceedures in a NBC / CBRN enviornment came up. This is when you have no other means to determine if a NBC / CBRN posture requires you to remain in your protective gear. You basically take the least essential soldier/sailor/airman/marine and have them break the seal of the mask and observe for side effects. After a given period of time and several attempts with no ill effects, the group can de-mask and breathe alittle easier. This simple procedure dang near created a mass revolt amongst our AF friends. The Navy LCDR ( an INTEL guy at that ) attach to my team for training even understood the principle. But it gets better.
Next comes the "Give your buddy and IV" class. This block of instruction and the cadre demonstration brought a female AF Major to tears in front of the whole class. To say she was shook up by the thought of giving an IV would be an understatement. To be fair, there were a few Army types not excited about recieving the IV, but were not moved to tears over it. Just alot of heavy breathing because of the needle thing.
So nice to know that our friends in blue are recieving the same level of comman skills training as the rest of the force. Just pray they don't come across you as a casualty on the battlefield. Such a thing may just land them 100% disability for PTSD at tax payer expense, all because such training is just too gung-ho for the Air Force.

Sounds like the Air Force Med Lab course I took when I first went into the Air Force. First day of the course you stuck the person across the table from you and they returned the favor. It was a neat weeding out process. Parts of the course required drawing blood from your lab partner and them doing the same to you for certain parts of the course (Hematology and Chem for example). Of course parisitology specimen was a whole different story.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

YUK, the thought of my buddy attempting to draw blood via a needle makes me cringe, Lorraine used to be a nurse many years ago and the thought of her advancing towards me armed with a needle makes me positively pass clean out!!

God Bless America.

We don't draw blood, we're replacing fluids lost to bleeding with the IV. But any married man would fear his wife coming at him with a needle and syringe.
