Re: Let's Go Red Wings!

For once I couldn't complain about 'hometown refs'. What a poorly called game. Game six coming and then it will be #11 for the Wings
(for the uninitiated, this will be Detroit's 11th Stanley Cup). If only the Tigers would take the cue.

It's still less than the 24 accumulated by my favorite.......the Habs! Although, it's been a while since the last one....about 15 years.

Well, I grew up on the shores of Lake Erie with antennae T.V., meaning that every Saturday night on the Canadian channel (Hockey Night in Canada on the CBC with Don Cherry) it was either the Habs or the Leafs, I became a Habs fan early at about the age of 10 or so. I remember watching all of their 1993 (I was 14) Stanley Cup run and all of those ridiculous OT victories with Roy being superb between the pipes (it was a shame to see him leave in the fashion he did). I remember them going down 0-1 to Gretzky and the Kings, and then coming back to sweep the next 4. Oh the memories, maybe they'll win another one soon, they did have a great year this year.

Re: Let's Go Red Wings!

Congrats to the Red Wings for winning Lord Stanley's Cup. It's nice to see an Original 6 team win it.

Trex, you refer to a guy "dating" himself who was born in 1979? Heck, I graduated from COLLEGE in 1979!

Now that really surprises me! That you went, not the year you graduated!

There was college in 1979?!?!?!? Just kidding Cap (I was taught to respect my elders ).

In 1979 the Wings were just into the Deadwings phase of their history and couldn't pay people to come see them play. BTW, I was only 9 but I remember alot of things from back then....heck the Lions were even semi-decent!
